Unit 2 Assignment 1

5 Purposes of Our Government
1. To protect our country against violence
2. Support citizens who need assistance with health and other costs
3. Provide education to all children
4. To make sure everyone has the help in their life that they need
5. Make sure every citizen is treated equally and with the same rights

Revolution
I would be willing to join a revolution if our government wasn’t fulfilling their purpose of being the government. If the government is a system set up to provide citizens with the help and support they need then they should because that’s their job. I would join the revolution because we all have the right to our freedom and our equal laws that should be provided at all times and the government shouldn’t ever lack on their job. All citizens are concerned about their protection and it’s the government’s job to protect us all from violence and crimes as well as wars. The government is well depended on by many elderly citizens, so to not support them with their needs would be a tragedy.

Husbands and Wives in a Well-Ordered family

Well-Ordered Families
Life in the colonies for husbands and wives were very much as they are today. The husbands were the head of the household which means it was his responsibility for all of the duties in the house. The wife had expectations as well, she was to love, honor, and care for husband at all time regardless of the situation. If there was a problem between the two it was believed to have been the Devil’s work and they disappointed God and his ways of a good marriage. Even if the wife or husband weren’t satisfied with each other they made promises to be together and love one another no matter what.
It surprised me that even during era times in the colonies the husbands were still expected to treat their wives with respect and the same for the wives. I never thought this was expected from the husband I thought that he was allowed to treat his wife in any manner he pleased. This shows a comparison between marriages today and the colonial era. No matter any situation or way of life the husband and wife should always show support for each other. Even today husbands are expected to take care of the home, while the wife is expected to take care of their husband by cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the household at all times.

Why Immigrants Move to the U.S.& Would You Ever Leave?

Immigrants move to the United States to start a better life than the one they were pursuing in the other country. Many today come to the U.S. to get better jobs because most immigrants here don’t get taxed, as we Americans do. They gain a lot more because they’re able to send funds back home to their families and receive a green card after being here for so long, which makes them a legal American. Not only do they gain coming to the U.S. they also lose a lot, many immigrants leave their family behind just to start a new beginning and forget about their old one. If I had a choice to immigrate somewhere else I wouldn’t consider the offer. Living in the United States you have many advantages that you may lose somewhere else. We have many different types of lifestyles as well as freedom and you can always move up to more levels in your life.
